Bring plenty of drinking water. You always need to stay hydrated. You will need water to prepare your food and to clean it after yourself. You might also need water to wash your hands and feet. It's better to bring more than you need rather than not enough.

Watch your dog closely when you are camping and keep your dog tied. Many camping areas have rules about pets. Be sure to look after your pets from other items. There are people who are afraid of dogs.

The flashlight must also be there when you are camping, but make sure the battery is fully charged or new. Also make sure and have additional batteries if needed. One way to make sure the battery doesn't die accidentally on a trip is to put it in the flashlight backwards when it's not in use. That way if the switch is accidentally turned on, they are still charged. This also ensures that you never place the battery incorrectly.

Ensure and return blankets and sleepwear. If you are going to camp for a long time, make sure and buy an expensive sleeping bag. It needs to be rated below freezing if needed. Extra blankets are a good idea for warmth or for extra cushioning. Many people like to sleep in warm clothes to help cool temperatures, so don't forget your PJ.

Food is another basic necessity, such as water, which is needed when camping. If you have the best cooking place, you can always take dry food and snacks. If you bring fresh food, make sure all items are stored in a cooler or refrigerator. There are lots of dishes that can be used for camping so food preparation is much easier.

When you clean you must always have soap. Don't forget to pack soap, shampoo and other cleaning items. The most important toilet item to pack is toilet paper.

There isn't much to say about first aid kits, except that each camper needs one in an emergency. You can never be too safe.

With fond memories of camping, people will tell you that getting ready is a must. The information provided here must help make it so that you have a memorable trip. Please remember this information and you and your family will have a great camping trip.
